“When I started this journey it wasn’t exactly for myself. A couple of my girlfriends had started intermittent fasting. I agreed to join them, more for accountability for them than myself. A couple of weeks in I was seeing some weight loss and decided to join yet another friend as an accountability partner in the Faster Way to Fat Loss Program. I had to count macros, log food, making sure I got enough protein, veggies, fats, and drinking a lot of water. It was hard in the beginning. I had a dull headache for days, my body ached and I had little to no energy to complete the exercises. As the weeks went by, I figured out how to make healthy eating work with my schedule. I pre-planned my meals and now with more energy, I complete the 30-minute workouts each day. Also, I had to make sure to get in at least 10,000 steps a day. I made sure to participate in each Healthy Challenge we had on campus which really made a great difference: The Heart Challenge, Step Challenge, Hydration Challenge, and the Sleep Audit improved my overall health and endurance.
My blood sugar dropped from 158 to 112 fasting and my Sleep Audit Score improved 28 points.
Now, I feel great and I have come to love my new healthy lifestyle! Over the last 5 months I have lost a total of 42 inches and 45 pounds I am so proud of what I have achieved. I believe anyone can reach their goals; it takes hard work, perseverance, and determination. Believe in Yourself! “
