Wellness Champion Objective:
Serve as an ambassador and resource for your Christian Care community on behalf of our employee wellness program, Well-at-Work, by communicating program options to co-workers, while providing constructive program feedback to the Health & Wellness Specialist.
Attributes of a Successful Wellness Champion:
- Passion for personal health & wellness
- Desire to help others
- Energetic
- Strong Communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Lead the wellness initiatives by example through practicing healthy behaviors
- Support the wellness program in an effort to help achieve program goals and objectives
- Co-Coordinate and lead community wellness committee
- Assist in communicating Well-at-Work programs through:
o Sending provided and drafted emails
o Displaying provided and drafted materials (posters, flyers, calendars, etc.)
o Word of mouth
- Strive to build a culture of wellness within your community
- Identify potential employee success stories
- Serve as a trusted source for collecting feedback and input from current wellness participants
- Assist in program improvement and development by providing appropriate feedback
- Maintain communication with superiors regarding activates related to being a Wellness Champion
- The Wellness Champions role is an additional, volunteer duty that is allowed on Christian Care time but will not interfere with primary job duties
- A reasonable amount of time involved with responsibilities listed above is no more than two (2) hours per month.
Diversity:
In order to create the most successful network of Wellness Champions, the Health & Wellness Specialist will seek representation from all position levels, and locations to ensure appropriate coverage and diversity.
Term Length:
In an effort to maintain fresh program ideas, Wellness Champions will serve at least a 1 year term; however, the Health & Wellness Specialist may evaluate the effectiveness following such year and offer extended terms to highly successful Wellness Champions. Positions are subject to change based on constant evaluation to ensure equal and effective representation upon Health & Wellness Specialist review.
Recognition:
The efforts of Wellness Champions are greatly appreciated and are very important to the success of the Well-at-Work program, through building a culture of wellness on each Christian Care campus. The volunteers will be recognized on the Well-at-Work website, newsletters, and at the Annual Leadership Summit on Health & Wellness.
